27th ANNUAL WORKSHOP,
6-8 July 2010. London, United Kingdom

The aim of the annual workshops is the exchange of knowledge, information, and opinions on all aspects of cognition and related topics. Papers to be presented may either address a general problem, relevant in more than one discipline, or a specific problem, but with sufficient attention for its relevance outside the specific discipline. All presentations should be understandable for the audience coming from a wide variety of disciplines. The following disciplines belong explicitly to the scope of the workshop:

  • psychology (cognitive, developmental, clinical), perception,
  • biology, with emphasis on evolution and cognition,
  • artificial intelligence,
  • neuroscience and neural networks,
  • language (also origin of language, computational, and disorders),
  • education and instruction,
  • philosophy, history of concepts, general systems theory, as far as relevant for the topics above.

London 2010, ESSCS-Workshop and Papers

Experimental papers should be placed within a theoretical framework. Papers accepted for the workshop may be published in the Journal of the ESSCS, 'Cognitive Systems'. Please send abstracts of papers as soon as possible. Deadline for first selection: 15 May 2010; last-minute participation is possible, if room in the programme is available. The number of papers is limited to 24, and the number of participants to 40. Length of abstracts: 100 to 300 words, to be sent by E-mail (preferably text, or RTF),

Registration fee 35 Euro for members of the ESSCS and ASoCS, 45 Euro for others, students 20 Euro. Reservations can be made by E-mail, fax, or by letter.

Accomodation

Accomodation will be available in convenient single and double rooms in Oak Hill College, where the meetings will be held (price B&B per person € 50; additional costs: coffees, teas, lunches). Oak Hill is in the Northern part of London, close to Underground station Cockfosters. A block booking has been made until 10 June 2010.

Program outline

Arrival: Monday 5 July (4 July may be possible),
welcome party Monday 18.00 hrs.
afterwards dinner near Oak Hill College.

Lectures will start on Tuesday 6 July at 10.00 hrs,
and the last workshop will close on 8 July around noon.
